“…act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God.” Micah 6:8
Luke McClure joined the U.S. Marine Corps as a Military Policeman at the age of 19. That is where his lifelong commitment to service and protection started. After graduating from the police academy, he became a decorated law enforcement member, recognized for his role in hundreds of investigations that led to recovery, safety, and accountability. He served on several overseas deployments.
Upon completing active duty, he earned a degree in Criminal Justice and decided to transition from the patrol car to the courtroom. He began working in a Prosecutor’s Office, where his skills helped the State build cases. Luke attended law school at night, graduating with honors while he gained trial experience and argued cases at the Court of Appeals.
As a prosecutor, he saw how short-sighted and self-righteous the justice system can be. He has learned to face his own shortcomings and realized that people connect in our shared weaknesses. Seeking the truth means exhausting all leads and asking tough questions. He saw that good intentions can lead to bad judgement.
Luke is now finding a special passion for criminal defense. His past has uniquely prepared him to help those falsely accused, or those whose side of the story has been ignored.
His faith guides his practice: to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly. At Refuge Legal, Luke doesn’t just provide legal representation; he provides a sanctuary for those navigating their darkest hours, fighting tirelessly to ensure his clients receive the best possible outcome.
